Verify the permitted uses rather than relying on a listing that says “domestic well.” An exempt household-use permit does not automatically authorize irrigation, livestock watering or every proposed use.
Water availability and legal permission are separate questions. In over-appropriated basins, some proposed uses may require augmentation; confirm the applicable requirements with DWR before designing the project. Then compare nearby depths and yields, obtain a site-specific drilling estimate, and lay out access, septic and utilities together. An existing permit alone is not evidence of a completed, serviceable water supply.
